i’m starting this blog mainly to write about my trip to europe last year, which was probably the most exciting trip i’ve ever taken, as well as the greatest learning experience i’ve ever had. I’ll also occasionally ramble and write about things going on, or the film i saw last night or what I’m listening to and why.

but perhaps I should introduce myself first to those that may care (probably a very small population, but in spite of that i’ll write a bit) I’m Mike, i’m a university student at the U of C, majoring in German (more on my love of German in the future). I plan on going to law school eventually…..

Curious what else I do? keep reading! Among other things, I take photos (see them here), write and record music, and watch lots of foreign films.

I listen to lots of music, and i’m mainly into music the general population doesn’t know (Einstürzende Neubauten for example, and don’t get my started on small strange bands from 1980’s Berlin like Schlaflose Nächte). Next on my list is Radiohead, after them Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, and the list goes on to include Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine (who’s excited for the reunion gig?) , The Red Hot Chili Peppers (amazing live, Stadium Arcadium is fantastic), John Frusciante (great guitarist, awesome solo artist) etc.

I do have to warn any/all potential readers that I’m not much of a writer, therefore I write quite informally, but I hate horrible grammar and incorrect spelling of words, so you can sleep soundly at night knowing that you won’t be seeing (m)any mistakes here.
